Rose Lemonade

The tender blush of petals lends a graceful femininity to crystal goblets of Rose Lemonade.
Rose Lemonade

Ingredients
  1. 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice, chilled
  2. 1 1/2 cups Rose Simple Syrup (recipe follows)
  3. 1 1/2 cups water or sparkling water, chilled
Rose Simple Syrup
  1. 3 cups water
  2. 1 1/2 cups sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  4. Petals from 1 edible rose
Instructions
  1. In a medium pitcher, combine lemon juice, Rose Simple Syrup, and water; stir to combine. Serve over ice.
Rose Simple Syrup
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and lemon zest over medium-high heat. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved, 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. When sugar is melted, remove from heat, and add petals from 1 edible rose. Let stand for at least 10 minutes (The flavor will intensify the longer the roses steep.) Let cool completely.
  3. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into an airtight container, and refrigerate. Store, refrigerated, in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
