Traquair House: A Lasting Legacy

Traquair House: A Lasting LegacyLocated in one of the “newer” wings dating to 1694, the Dining Room is now decorated in Victorian style, with French hand-blocked wallpaper purchased at the Great Exhibition in 1851 and rich red-and-gold leaf-patterned carpeting. Family portraits hang on the walls, including one of the 1st Earl of Traquair, who became Lord High Treasurer of Scotland in 1636. The room also holds a collection of pewter mugs and plates.
