Roots, Shoots, and Blooms

A gardener’s greatest display of blind optimism is perhaps best realized in spring, when flower bulbs meticulously planted months ago and left abandoned in winter’s darkness suddenly push their way upward, through the thawing ground, and burst into bloom.

A study of prolific remnants from the garden, dried petals and seedpods, tulips waiting to bloom, jars of impossibly tiny seeds, and an assortment of flowering and dormant bulbs create a composition of quiet retrospection for the gardener.

  1. God has indeed blessed us richly when we can see His beauty pop up from the ground after a cold and often grueling winter !

I have never had a ‘green thumb’, but with bulbs, you really don’t need one! They know what to do, when to do so, and how to “wow” us with their splendor and magnificent colours!

Spring can’t get here soon enough for me – especially after receiving the new March/April issue of Victoria – Spring gardening at it’s finest!

I wish everyone a wonderful and happy Spring !

    God bless !
