Romantic Castles of the United Kingdom

If the stone walls of Leeds Castle could speak, they would tell rich and fascinating tales of the notable families who inhabited this regal residence. Built nearly nine hundred years ago in a valley of the River Len, near Kent, England, the restored castle is a trove of antiques, art, and history. It was home to six queens, a palace of Henry VIII, and a retreat for the glamorous and powerful.

  1. Although I would prefer a modest cottage in the Cotswolds over a large castle or Manor house, I must admit there is an aspect of this grandeur that is both exciting and awe-inspiring. The sheer size and well thought out plans for each and every need to be met is really a feat deserving of our applause !

The beautiful interiors with the luxurious woods, fabrics, and paintings are simply breathtaking. No one does this quite like the English and much of this is in evidence with the gardens alone. Spectacular !

    God bless !
