The Harrises were no strangers to renovations, having owned a number of old or historic homes that required varying degrees of repair—most notably the Virginia farmhouse where Rob had grown up—but nothing matched the scale of this project. They worked with an architect and a builder who shared their commitment to honoring the integrity of the antebellum structure.
