Q: What is currently inspiring you?

A: I’m inspired by the growing desire to build and live in a more sustainable environment. More and more, I see people and companies being mindful of building materials and finishes they use and their impact on the environment.

Q: What is the most rewarding part of what you do?

A: The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I’m making my clients’ lives better. I see the positive effect a new home or renovation has on them. What fulfills me is having the ability to create a space that my clients want to come home to every day to be rejuvenated, whereas before, they felt frustrated and drained. We can’t control much of our outside environment, but we can control our home environment and create a space that nourishes us from the inside.

Q: Could you share any advice for women who are considering becoming entrepreneurs or entering into the design field?

A: Be the embodiment of what you want to do. The motto is true: Fake it till you make it.

I was an interior designer before I had any clients, but every day, I would work and do the things an interior designer does. Find a balance between doing what you love and having the ability to pay the bills. Stop procrastinating and just do it.
