Today, visitors are first greeted by the parkland meadow, a grassy area that lies northeast of the red brick mansion and in warmer months is dotted with a rich tapestry of bulbs. The area seems vast, elevated above the surrounding farmlands, but before Anne and her team began working, it felt claustrophobic and hidden. Tall hedge walls filled the property. Anne became determined to remove these structures and create a garden reminiscent of the open style popularized during the enlightenment period, when the home was first built.
