Sweet Pie Dough
 
Makes 2 piecrusts
Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup plus 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, diced
  • ⅔ cup ice-cold water
Instructions
  1. In the work bowl of a food processor, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Pulse until blended. Add butter, and continue pulsing until mixture is crumbly. With the processor running, add ⅔ cup water in a slow, steady stream until mixture just comes together.
  2. Remove dough from processor, divide in half, and shape each half into a disk. Wrap each disk tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
