A French-Inspired Home

Bankston Interior

Luxury meets functionality in this well-dressed guest bedroom fitted with a corniced window treatment draped with opulent silks in two difference shades. A pair of antique prints suspended from clear nylon wire adds an extra element of privacy to an otherwise exposed view. Vintage French twin beds from the mid-1800s were discovered on one of the homeowner’s antiquing excursions.

  1. In your “Cherished Recipes” magazine, there was a recipe for spice-cake trifles. Your baking pan size was a 9″ x 3″ x 2″. I need a baking pan conversion for an 8″ square cake pan. I would also greatly appreciate the number of cups of batter found in a 9″ x 3″ x 2″ baking pan.

My sister’s 50th wedding anniversary is May 29th. She has asked that I make a fabulous, homemade spice cake like our grandmother used to bake in the 1940’s. Unfortunately, my grandmother kept the recipe secret so I can’t make hers. Could you please help us?
