Under the tutelage of her great-grandmother, Nicki began sewing at age six, happily stitching away until her teen years, when other activities took precedence. “I picked it up again about ten years ago, when I discovered blogs and the creative women who wrote them,” says Nicki. “I found that embroidery helped to quiet my mind, still my hands, and slow my breathing.”
