While holding fast to the hallmarks of the premises, the Merchant’s principals in 2010 chose to further enhance the allure without compromising centuries-old splendor, creating sleek art deco–influenced boudoirs that contrast and complement existing plush Victorian velvet and silk chambers. This accommodation is exceptional in its opulent revival, fulfilling the designers’ pre-renovation mandate to fashion the “most beautiful hotel in the world.”
