A garland of dried apple and orange slices, interspersed with foraged fall elements, bedecks a mantel. Simply slice the fruit, bake at 250° for three hours, let cool completely, and string with thin nylon thread. Fresh slices, paired with cinnamon sticks, infuse hot cider with aroma, flavor, and spice.
