Suzonne Stirling could be classified as a Renaissance woman: she is not only a professional crafter but also a freelance stylist. Suzonne, who is known for her beautiful paper flowers, reveals how she established her business.
Inspiration can strike at any moment, and for Suzonne, creativity often emerges in her car. “I’m always scanning the landscape trying to take it all in, which doesn’t make me the best driver,” she says.
Suzonne has been a crafter since childhood, when she would sell her productions to her peers. As she grew older, she used her art as a mindful practice of refocusing her thoughts. Her work is dictated by nature, as her signature paper flowers evidence. She began creating them after discovering vintage crepe paper in mid-twentieth-century craft books.
Many of her clients are men purchasing flowers for loved ones. Roses are quite popular, but Suzonne has a number of requests for Southern varieties like camellias, gardenias, and magnolias.
The floral works of art offer a lasting, positive experience—the designs bring joy into any environment. At present, she crafts products for magazines and styles photo shoots. Suzonne is continually cultivating new projects and is looking forward to designing more natural pieces.
